White Friesian Foals Empty White Friesian Foals

Post  Skwittlez Tue Jul 14, 2009 9:04 am

***PLEASE READ THE EDIT BELOW BEFORE TELLING ME THAT FREISIANS ARE NOT WHITE. DUH. OBVIOUSLY THEY WILL NOT BE PURBRED. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE COMMENTING THIS.***

In reality, if you were to breed different color horses, the foal will usually either inherit one of the coat colors or I think it could be kind of mixed. I'm pretty sure it's been done with Friesians.
On Howrse, when you breed two howrses, the foal usually inherits the look of one of it's parents, whether it's the breed or the color. If you were to breed a Firesian with, say, a white Arabian, the foal will either turn out a black Friesian or a white or black Arabian. Why can't we have white Friesians foals? I would love to have a white Friesian =D

*EDIT*
Just to clear things up - obviously Friesians are naturally black, so obviously if you bred a freisain with another horse, it wouldn't be pure. But in Howrse, if it looked like a Friesian but had the white color - that's all I'm really saying. Obviously a white Freisian is rare, but not impossible. Hope that makes a little more sense. Naturally, the foal wouldn't be purbred anyways, but would "look" like a freisian with a white coat.

*********EX: if you bred an arabian and a standardbred, the foal would look like either an arabian or a standardbred.
So, hope that clears some things up. =)

ANOTHER EXAMPLE

father: white arabian
mother: black purbred spanish
foal: white purbred spanish OR black arabian

---->in Howrse, the foal either looks like the father in breed, or the mother. When you breed two different breeds, the howrse inherits one of the breeds so it LOOKS like one or the other.

All I am saying is that the foal would LOOK like a friesian, but would inherit the white coloring from the white parent.

Father: white arabian
Mother: black friesian
Foal: white friesian

I don't know how else to explain it. Look at some crossbred foals. You will see that they LOOK like a certain breed. It will even say that the howrse is a certain breed, even though it's mixed.

Please stop telling me there are no white friesians. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT PURBREDS!

Hope this makes sense.
